TEL - A snapshot in May 2026

The TEL5 stations at Bedok South & Sungei Bedok and TELe Tanah Merah station as of mid-May
2026.

With the Circle Line early closures & late openings coming to an end, the next line in queue for such works is the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) for phase 5 testing & integration works. We took a look at the vicinity of the 2 remaining stations due to open later this year and at the progress of works at Tanah Merah's new exits. Find out more after the jump.

TE30 - Bedok South (Contract T311)
In a nutshell: Due to delays along the Downtown Line 3 extension affecting commissioning of systems along TEL5, the station has been sitting completed for some time now. There are no appreciable differences to its completion. All 5 station exits have been completed, with station signage visible and uncovered.

TE31 - Sungei Bedok (Contract T312)
In a nutshell: With the station buildings largely completed, signage has appeared as well. Apart from this, road works are still in progress with the conversion of the former L-shaped turn into a T-junction making little headway. Covered linkways were under construction in the vicinity of Bedok Corner food centre and Eastwood Centre.

TE35 / EW4 - Tanah Merah (Contract T315)
In a nutshell: Works at Exit 4 of the station were plodding along, with the closure of the pedestrian pathway in effect. Exit 3 had also made some slow progress towards completion, with the site being tidied up. At platform level, the former utilities block to the east of the station at Platforms C/D had been successfully demolished for linkage with the new eastern station concourse. The block still remained in place for Platforms E/F.
