T310 - Bayshore

Last week the Land Transport Authority awarded the construction of Bayshore station to a joint venture between Woh Hup and Shanghai Tunneling Engineering Co. The contract involves construction of the station structure and two pairs of tunnels to Siglap and Bedok South stations. Tunnels between Bayshore and Siglap stations will go into a stacked formation to clear the narrow corridor along Bayshore Road and Bayshore Park condominium.

To the eastern end will be a cut and cover section which will house a crossover. This will allow trains to turn back in 2023 when the station opens as a terminus for stage 4 of the Thomson - East Coast Line till stage 5 opens a year later. This also means that during this single year of operation, boarding will only be allowed from one platform - similar to Bartley station on the Circle Line when stage 3 opened.

Similar to Siglap station, this station was designed by Arup under contract E1002 for the then Eastern Region Line.

  1. During the construction phase, will LTA use the entire strip of land between Bayshore and Bedok South as construction site like Bedok Reservoir station for downtown line?

    1. Hi, at this moment we aren't too sure. However, judging from the URA masterplan, this area will be further developed and a new road system put in. It is likely that this work will coincide with the construction stage. Additionally, this site is supposed to be used as a temporary site for track works as well.
