T312 - Sungei Bedok update August 2023

9 August 2023 - A view of the station exit behind Bedok Food Centre.

It's been a while since we've had a look at what contractor KTC has been up to over at Sungei Bedok station's work site. Over the last month, we've paid the site a few visits and managed to get some pictures to update on the progress being made. Works are definitely at a less advanced stage than the stations along phase 4 of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) with completion of these stations only due around the first quarter of 2025.

The station exit located next to Bedok Food Centre appears to be the most advanced of the 2 located at this end of the station. Metal roof supports can be clearly seen with scaffolding aplenty allowing other works to take place above and/or below - we're not quite sure in this case. Meanwhile, the exit located across the road and next to Bedok camp appears to be less far along with corrugated metal pieces covering up where escalators and stairs will be located. These serve as protection from the elements - both the sun & rain - so that the equipment does not corrode prematurely.

9 August 2023 - A further bank of exits closer to Dusit Thani hotel & Laguna golf course.

12 August 2023 - The eastern end of the station is a mess of construction as the contractor has
to construct stacked junction tunnels underneath a canal to connect with the East Coast Depot.

12 August 2023 - The station's ancillary building as seen from Dusit Thani hotel.

Further along, towards Dusit Thani hotel & Laguna golf course, another bank of exits can be found. It is here that additional lifts will allow commuters to access the underground bicycle parking facility. This bank of exits appears to be further along with the roof structure clearly visible if you look hard enough. A station ancillary building is located opposite, with the ventilation & cooling equipment installed within.

With such progress being made, we are confident that this station will be ready come 2025 to serve commuters. Do stay tuned as we bring you updates on the progress made over time.
