Earlier when we were doing our recap of the National Day Virtual Tour, we mentioned that we'd drop by again one day to try obtain better pictures of the station progress. We're back with other images and also some throwback glimpses of the station's interior through images sourced online from contractors.

We begin with one of the exits to the station located at the junction of Fort Road and Tanjong Rhu Road. The exit is a simple concrete structure and mechanical & electrical work is on-going within. These include the installation of cabling, fittings and fixtures such as lighting, plumbing, fire suppression systems and escalators. Once the installation work is sufficiently far along, work can progress onto architectural design elements.

The second station exit, along with the pick up-drop off point is along Meyer Road. Likewise, the exit here has its structure completed and should be at the mechanical & electrical installation stage. Parts of Meyer Road have been reinstated with the road junction having the concrete paving poured & cured.

The slip road from Fort Road to Meyer Road has recently been cast and curing is underway to allow the concrete to set and obtain the desired strength required.

Images on contractors' & sub-contractors' websites offer a glimpse at the works taking place below ground and out of sight. Steel structures are lifted into place to support the installation of escalators and lifts within the station. The installation of mechanical & electrical components can also be clearly seen whilst architectural work has not commenced in the undated pictures, as the station walls have yet to be adorned with cladding that makes the walls easier to clean & maintain whilst offering a sleek look as compared to a bare concrete wall finished with paint.
