T309 - Siglap reinstated

9 August 2022 - A reinstated portion of Marine Parade Road above Siglap station.

On National Day, we conducted a virtual tour on the SG MRT Construction (SgMC) Instagram channel. During the tour, we covered several stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line and we'll be featuring some additional shots of Siglap station that we may not have showcased on the Instagram channel during the tour.

The station lies under Marine Parade Road, a major east-west thoroughfare in the district. Of the four station exits, 3 are parallel to each other with 2 being located north of the eastbound carriageway. Another 2 are located south of the westbound carriageway, 1 of which is parallel to Siglap Link. For the ease of navigation through this post, we'll cover the southern side exits and then the structures on the northern side.

Once again, we're met with a station that has rather restrictive viewing angles. Not many vantage points, unless one takes a double decker bus ride across. Nonetheless, the views from the upper deck allow us to see that the station's surface structures are all pretty much done. We've also noted that the roadways are almost completely reinstated over the work site. Works should be moving towards architectural, electrical & mechanical components now.
