Founders' Memorial station is a bit of a peculiar one, being planned with the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) stage 4 under contract E1003, but as a shell station box akin to that of Tagore on TEL2. Initially, the contract T302 called for the "Construction of Facility Building and tunnels for the TEL". Nonetheless, the station is on its way to being fully built out. Featuring 2 exits on either end of the station, work is progressing with the concrete structures completed. Equipment is being installed at both exits, with the northern exit also doubling up as a cooling plant.

Recently, the team came across several images of the station's construction that shows its progress internally as well. The station will feature a standard TEL island platform station with a concourse level corridor on one side of the station. Two sets of escalators link the centre of the platform to the concourse level above, allowing for a double volume atrium over the centre of the station. The station will also feature several skylights, allowing natural light to filter in to the platform level.

Interior works are focused on the architectural features with ceiling panels, tiles and cladding being installed. Wiring work is also ongoing within the enable the station to function once it opens in a few years' time.

The progress within the station looks great and we're confident that it will be fit out fairly quickly and on time for opening in several years. As of now, the year 2027 has been floated about for the station's anticipated opening, but that date remains to be seen as it could potentially be brought forward to allow easier access to Gardens Bay East & the PassionWave facility on this side of the bay.
