East Coast Line Construction: T307 - Marine Parade Q1 2023 update

Marine Parade station under contract T307, appears to be the slowest moving among all the 7 stations under the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) phase 4 that will be operational next year. That said, the station is definitely not on the level of completion that Great World station along TEL3 was in the months and weeks leading up to that section's opening.

Layout
Just to recap, the contract site is divided into 2 sections - the station and the commercial subway. The station portion is where the platform will be located as well as other functions of the station proper. This is located to the west, just outside Parkway Parade shopping centre & Marine Parade central. Exits A to C connect to this section. To the east is the commercial subway, a retail link built above the cripple siding one level below in the running tunnels. Exits D to F are connected to this section.

Exit A
This exit is connected to the station building and is located along Marine Parade Road, outside Roxy hotel opposite Parkway Parade. It will be the main exit used for getting bicycles down to the concourse level bicycle parking space. Works are ongoing to install the elevator components while the roadway outside is being restored. Presumably, commuter infrastructure will be installed for the pick up-drop off & bus shelter.

Exit B
This exit will also be connected to the station concourse level and features an integrated ventilation shaft/cooling tower on top. Equipment is being installed whilst the exit structure has just begun cladding works. The detailing of the design of the exit features black lines that look like modern, refined vines.

Exit C
This exit is the third that will connect to the station concourse level and is next to Parkway Centre. Works are underway for the metal roof frame. A long subway will connect Marine Parade Central to the station box and restoration work is ongoing at street level.

Exit D
This exit is the first of several that will connect to the commercial linkway above the cripple siding. Located next to one of the HDB precincts, the exit is nestled between HDB blocks and is currently having its metal roof frame installed.

Exit E & F
The remaining 2 exits are also located along Marine Parade Road and will connect to the commercial & retail linkway. Works at both exit are focused on the installation of the metal roof frames.
