Katong Park is the next station on our quarter 1 update for the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). Like other stations along this sector, there is noticeable progress with cladding now visible at Exit 2 and also on the ventilation building/cooling tower. Take a look after the jump for more photos!
Exit 1
Located directly next to Katong Park, the cladding work at the exit has progressed. More parts of the exit are noticeably covered with the terracotta patterned cladding. Glass panels for the lift shaft can also be seen to be installed.

Exit 2
This exit is located along Fort Road, near the junction with Tanjong Rhu Road and next to the Line condominium. The noticeable progress here is the commencement of installation of black granite cladding on the station facade.

Ventilation building/Cooling tower
Similar to Exit 2, cladding work is in progress for this building, also sporting a black granite motif. Sited right behind Exit 1, the building is neatly hidden away from view from the main road.

Ancillary building
Located at the junction of Fort & Meyer Roads is the ancillary building. Equipment installation appears to be taking place with wiring being installed at the facility.

Skylight features
The station will also feature several skylights that will allow natural light to filter down to the lower platform level. Several structures can be seen appearing above the hoarding as the structures are protected from the wet weather elements ahead of the glass installation.

It is great to see that progress is moving steadily across the various stations ahead of the section's completion next year. Within the year, one should expect the stations to be fitted with fittings such as railings, signage & lighting ahead of systems testing towards the later part of the year. Do stay tuned as we cover more updates over the course of quarter 1, and the remainder of the year.
