Despite Katong Park being one of the deeper stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) phase 4 due to its stacked configuration, the station has progressed quickly with the installation of architectural components. Electrical fittings are also being installed and the station has progressed to using its own permanent lighting to illuminate the work areas. We'd like to thank Seloloving for providing us with some photos to use in this update.

Exit 1, located just outside the namesake Katong Park, is brightly lit allowing sneak peeks into the station. The ceiling panels are mostly installed and station lighting illuminates the exit in warm yellow tones. The brighter white lights are likely to be supplementary construction lighting during the works phase. On the exterior, work is going on for other commuter facilities such as the pick-up/drop-off (PUDO) shelter in front of the station exit along Meyer Road. The station roof also appears to remain as a concrete shell with no cladding installed as yet.

Meanwhile, at Exit 2 near the junction of Fort and Tanjong Rhu Roads, the structure remains shrouded in construction netting which obscures the view into the station's interior here. Nonetheless, it is possible to see that the exit is illuminated at night. Cladding at the roof level has also progressed, unlike at Exit 1, with a little portion remaining as a concrete shell.

Beyond the 2 station exits, the ancillary building is also undergoing cladding installation works on the exterior. On the interior, what appears to be the station's permanent lighting is being used to illuminate the areas seen. Additionally, there are several large skylights that allow the co-located concourse & upper platform level to receive natural lighting. These allow some light from within the station to filter up during the evenings, showing that the station interior is lit up as well. We eagerly await when the station's hoarding can finally come down along the northern end of Katong Park - perhaps then, we shall be able to have a better view of the station's interior.

Do stay tuned as we continue bringing periodic updates on the remaining stations in time to come.
