T308 - Marine Terrace progress check

A map of the construction site to orient one's self.
On National Day, we conducted a virtual tour on the SG MRT Construction (SgMC) Instagram channel. During the tour, we covered several stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line and we'll be featuring some additional shots that we may not have showcased on the Instagram channel during the tour.
Since we have a map for this station's site, let's do a round robin for this photo update starting with the exits in alphabetical order.

Exit A
This exit is probably going to be one of the main gateways into the station. Located at the heart of Marine Terrace with easy access to the neighbourhood centre, eateries, police post and the major bus stop for the estate nearby, it is also the biggest exit of the station. Cladding works can be seen underway here and escalators have been installed too - covered with the blue tarpaulin.

9 August 2022 - An aerial view of Exit A. Escalators have been installed.

9 August 2022 - A view of Exit A from the back.

9 August 2022 - From this angle, one can see the cladding for the exterior going up.

9 August 2022 - A closer look at the cladding system.

9 August 2022 - And another view, albeit somewhat obstructed, from
street level. The blue bits are foam pieces.

Exit B
Across the road is Exit B, a long and narrow exit located on the side table of Marine Parade Road. It's quite an achievement that they've managed to squeeze an entrance to the station here. This exit currently has (as of 9th August 2022), no escalators installed yet.

9 August 2022 - Exit B as seen from afar. It is long and narrow to fit into the side table.

19 August 2022 - Exit B as seen from the block opposite.

9 August 2022 - Time for a close up of exit B. No escalators installed yet.

Exit C, D and the Cooling Tower
At the eastern end of the station lies the cooling tower and Exits C & D. The two exits here are less complete in structure with concrete pouring still on-going. This is likely due to the fact that this was where the launch shaft for the tunnel boring machines towards Siglap station was located. As a result, the tunneling works had to be completed before the shaft could be sealed up and work at the upper levels of the station completed.

9 August 2022 - Here's the cooling tower. Oh, and Exit C behind too.

9 August 2022 - A closer view shows some equipment inside the cooling
tower already.

9 August 2022 - Here's Exit D from across the road.

9 August 2022 - Exit D as seen from the street level.

9 August 2022 - The back of the cooling tower.

Exit E
We're not too sure how the lettering convention works at this station as the exits are assigned letters that do not appear to follow any convention. That is, unless you accept random as a convention. Maybe. Nonetheless, we're sure that this will not be the final assignment given that the Thomson-East Coast Line has introduced numbers for exit designation, replacing the previous system utilizing letters. In any case, escalators are installed here too.

9 August 2022 - Onto Exit E. Escalators - check!

9 August 2022 - Exit E from another angle.

Exit F
And lastly we have Exit F, sitting at a corner. The basic concrete structure is in place and we presume that the remaining parts of the roof will be assembled using steel sections. These are usually prefabricated and would offer a quicker assembly due to the modular nature. Escalators have been installed at this exit too.

9 August 2022 - And finally we have Exit F. Escalators installed here too.

9 August 2022 - Let's end off on a close up!

And with that round robin, we've covered all the exits at Marine Terrace station! But do stay tuned, as we'll have another update rolling around some time soon. And perhaps this time, we shan't have as long a hiatus as we did previously.
