T311 - Bedok South status check

9 August 2022 - A view of the exit near Bedok South Horizons HDB.

On National Day, we conducted a virtual tour on the SG MRT Construction (SgMC) Instagram channel. During the tour, we covered several stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line and we'll be featuring some additional shots of Bedok South station that we may not have showcased on the Instagram channel during the tour.

9 August 2022 - A close up view.

Bedok South station will comprise of 5 exits once completed in 2025. Of the 5 exits, we managed to spot 4, each at different stages of completion. The exit nearest to Bedok South Horizons HDB precinct had the basic structure below ground cast. However any structures at street level were not yet completed.

An exit directly across the road near to Kew Gardens side is still at the excavation and structural casting stage - a vast difference from stations along phase 4 of the line, several of which have had escalators installed and structural works largely completed. The exit next to Temasek Secondary School is also at the excavation and casting stage with no structures at street level visible.

A lone exit at an area designated for future development is the most complete of the 4 exits sighted. The frame for the lift shaft is clearly visible from afar and the staircase is fully cast.

9 August 2022 - The May 2022 newsletter for Bayshore, Bedok South & Sungei Bedok stations.

9 August 2022 - The content of the newsletter.

9 August 2022 - Locations of the stations.

In addition to the station works, a newsletter covering the remainder of the TEL stations - Bayshore, Bedok South & Sungei Bedok, as well as Xilin station along the Downtown Line 3 extension was seen at the nearby Bedok South Horizons HDB precinct. The newsletter is rather brief, describing the locations of the stations and their exits as well as some works that are scheduled.

Thus with Bedok South, concludes the National Day virtual tour of the TEL4/5 stations. But do stay tuned for subsequent brief updates on other stations along the TEL4/5 corridor - we promise you won't have to wait as long.

In case you haven't heard, we're doing a special feature on the SG MRT Construction Instagram from tomorrow called TEL3 @ Night. Do head on down and check out the channel if you haven't already done so! Till our next update on TEL4/5, see you on Instagram!
