T307 - 2022 Year end update

21 November 2022 - Exit A along Marine Parade Road, opposite Parkway
Parade shopping mall just outside Roxy Square.

25 November 2022 - Exit C next to Parkway Centre.

3 December 2022 - Exit B located at the junction of Marine Parade &
Joo Chiat Roads.

Marine Parade station is located right at the heart of the busy neighbourhood and right next to Parkway Parade mall. Directly abutting the station is a cripple siding which will also serve as an underground commercial linkway. Shops are envisioned to be leased out here offering benefits to users as they commute from the station to their destinations. In addition to the commercial linkway, we also understand that as the Marine Parade Community Club (CC) undergoes refurbishment, a new exit via the basement will be constructed to allow for visitors to connect directly to the MRT station. This exit will likely open in the future once the CC is reopened after reconstruction.

Like at other stations, works are focused at the station exits. Thus far, it appears that the 3 exits that will connect directly to the station concourse - Exits A, B & C - have escalators installed. Exits A & C also have the lift shaft frames installed as well. As Exit B is an exit that is integrated with a cooling tower or ventilation equipment, the lift shaft here will be constructed from concrete instead.

The remaining exits at the station will connect to the commercial linkway and are at less advanced stages of construction. These exits also potentially do not have their escalators installed in yet. With the progress noted at surface level, the contractor is attempting to complete Exits A, B & C first before the remaining Exits D, E & F. This may also help the station proper to be completed at a comparable rate to other stations on the line and allow for the commencement of test and trial runs than if all exits were to be completed together.

The 3D architectural model for Marine Parade station shows that Exits A, B & C will be connected to the station proper whilst Exits D, E & F will connect to the commercial linkway. The model also shows a cross section of the cripple siding with the commercial linkway above.

We look forward to further progress at the station in the coming year when cladding is likely to go up at the exits.
